Snowdrop time

They are always such a lovely subject to paint, and not difficult as the wild ones emerging now in the woods and along the lanes have a very simple structure . I paint them every year at this time and have three or four learn to paint videos on my youtube channel. Here I have posted some of the paintings. I really enjoy experimenting with the backgrounds which involves masking out the flowers to put free washes behind them. In these paintings I have used wet into wet washes with salt, clingfilm and splatter work.
